When we developed the Quartz scanner, we took that complexity and packaged it to be easy to use – then we made it robust enough for the real world. Finally we added our own breakthrough technologies to make it even easier to measure complicated objects in the real world - easily. We believe that scanners should be reliable enough for the production line. Before launch, Quartz scanners were subjected to a full year of field trials - demonstrating robustness and accuracy throughout the automotive and aerospace industries. Whether in use for reverse engineering, first item inspection, SPC or 100% inspection applications - the scanner excelled. Our philosophy is simple - 3D scanning should be easy to use. If you can’t get a 3D scan from our systems in five minutes from turning it on for the first time, we haven’t done our job right. Financially, the company is backed by its shareholders - including the management team, Loughborough University, and two powerful investors. The Lachesis Fund assisted with the development of the first Quartz scanner, while significant investment from Octopus Ventures enabled us to build a sales and support organisation.
